Summary:

Boomerang includes most of the standard features you’d expect to see in an email marketing service. The best way to look at them in relation to their competitors is that they are simple, but their product works. Their prices are reasonable as well.

Highlights:

The most important feature that not many other email service providers have adopted is CRM integration. Boomerang offers a certified integration with Salesforce.com allowing the user to easily use their Salesforce contact list to send out timely campaigns.

Some simple but nice features of Boomerang mail is that the system will retry to send your campaigns to soft bounces. As part of the service they include a SPAM test and test messages. Test emails are automatically sent to the user’s account for approval prior to being sent to the contact list. In terms of CAN-SPAM compliance Boomerang, like all other services provides unsubscribe links. The difference here, that few email marketing services provide, is that Boomerang will let the user add one manually or add one of their own automatically.

Although not fantastic, Boomerang does include 25mb of free image hosting where images need to be less than one 1mb to upload. Some of their major competitors provide far less, or require an added fee to stare more images.

For those starting out with the service, Boomerang provides a lot of easy to use material, especially a training videos, for beginners. Boomerang also includes demos for the HTML editor, list building and reporting. They provide webinars, a blog, FAQ and contextual help, along with email, phone and chat support.

Boomerang also offers the choice between full-service and custom programs.

Criticism:

Boomerang will encounter the occasional difficulty when using the Mozilla Firefox as an Internet browser, things like broken links and sign-in problems. Additionally, Boomerang’s Blast Wizard functions as a "pop up" window. This can be cumbersome the user will in most cases have a "pop-up" blocker installed.
Boomerang Mail does not included conversion tracking, complaints, undeliverables or the ability to integrate with Google Analytics.
Also, the live chat isn’t as responsive as it should be.
